TF Race Day Recap – AAA Texas Fall Nationals / Spoilers

First I want to start off with this new thing I’m doing trying to draw interest here, I love the NHRA and everything about it, but see literal minimal activity, so I’m going to do race recaps for all the races the best I can, I know I’m going to need a lot of work but I’m doing this in the best interest of those who come here wanting to discuss the pro catagorys of the NHRA and don’t watch the broadcast. If it’s not allowed, remove it and pm me. Will be doing class by class posts…
(And for this one I’m on mobile, bare with me)

Top Fuel –

The Top Fuel day was highlighted by the grind the Capco guys faced putting together an entire new car between rounds after a massive crash in round 2 for Steve Torrence, who blew a tire at the finish line shredding the car into pieces after veering into the wall at 300 mph. Beating Richie Crampton on a holeshot on that same run. Brittany Force continues her tear through the countdown, getting her second win and closing the gap on point leader Torrence, after back to back round wins against the only two ahead of her in the points (Doug/Steve) she went on to win a nail bitter finish against Shawn Langdon who was in his first final appearance of the season, Shawn now with only 2 races left to cap his Top Fuel career(for now) with a win. The only large upset on the day was Terry Haddock who won from the No.15 seed over Tony Schumacher after Tony ran into tire shake around half track.
Brittanys run to the Wally included wins over Countdown competitors in all 4 rounds (McMillen/Kalitta/Torrence/Langdon). While Shawns run to the runner up was technically too after beating Clay Millican round one, and a Bye in round two after Terry Haddock failed to get it turned over in time. Earning his way into the final with a round win against 2 time defending champion and defending Fall Nationals champion Antron Brown. Brittany now is really bringing the fight to Doug and Steve with 8 rounds of racing remaining and 4 of those being points and a half. If she keeps up her consistency she is sure to be a threat for the title come Pomona, that is if Steve-O hits a bump in the road on the way there.

This was short and sweet because I am on mobile today but as I do these I hope to include the ladders from the day and points after the race has concluded, but with 2 races left this will be a big next season project, that is if it’s cool with the mods.
