Vintage Racing League, Inc. recently announced the launch of their new website, Racing and Cars.com (www.racingandcars.com – RAC) as a successor to the original VRL community. RAC’s mission is to be the catalyst that unites the collector car community. RAC is a first in the collector car marketplace; an integrated online community, merchant directory, marketplace and auto/motorsports jobs platform, supporting 10,000+ merchants that sell $50 billion in products and services annually to 10 million high net worth collector car owners, and millions more that love racing and cars.
RAC addresses declining revenue and next generation participation concerns for car clubs, race tracks, racing sanctioning bodies, automotive and collector car dealers, automotive and motorsports merchants and employers. Presently, the collector car marketplace is highly fragmented and inefficient. RAC’s objective is to function as the converging mechanism between merchants and collector car owners.
“For many years the car collector and automotive enthusiast community has been underserved when it comes to integrating racing and car enthusiasts, merchants and groups on the internet,” said Stephen Page, VRL Chairman and CEO. “Everyone has a website but there has not been an all-encompassing portal to allow cross communication, e-commerce, social networking and promotion until now. Racing and Cars.com will serve as the ultimate online portal for the global collector car community.”
Through exhaustive research RAC recognized that a large segment of collector car owners, with a $2+ million net worth, who own five to eight cars, two to three of which are “daily drivers” and who spend $50,000 – $100,000+ annually on their passion have been looking for an avenue to grow and share their passion. Additional outreach to car clubs and race tracks revealed a need for organization, intra-communication and member interest research.
“What we have seen is there are hundreds of similar interest car clubs, but they operate in virtual silos on the internet,” added Page. “Traditional social networks like Facebook don’t provide the needed integration for these groups on a national and global scale. RAC has the capabilities on day one to act as the ultimate portal for car clubs, sanctioning bodies, race tracks and merchants to bring all these members, fans and groups together.
Members who join the RAC community immediately achieve four primary objectives. First, they find and make friends with other members that share their same granular interests. Second, they save time and money as they perform research to buy the products and services they need to support their passion. Third, they receive the latest automotive and motorsports news and, finally, they create the opportunity to find automotive and motorsports industry jobs.
RAC’s proprietary platform generates revenue from multiple sources to include the purchase and sale of collector cars, parts and services and Auto/Motorsports job related activities. The Racing and Cars.com vision, unique processes and integrated buy-sell-auction-reverse auction (In Search Of) community platform is a “first” within the vertically focused, passion-driven collector car community.
RAC has built a Merchant Directory that showcases 10,000+ Merchants, sorted by 23 categories. Prime advertising and website sponsorship opportunities will go quickly. Advertisers interested in the Merchant Directory and/or selling your products directly in our Marketplace, please send an email to [email protected] or call Shawnee Broadhead, Chief Digital Officer at: 214-676-4333.
