Save Time With Premade Wheel Tubs From Chris Alston’s Chassisworks

The maximum stock tire size a vehicle comes with from the factory isn’t going to be the best for a drag racing application for many cars. If you’re trying to fit bigger hides under the rear of the car it’s almost a guarantee you’ll run into clearance issues. Chris Alston’s Chassisworks makes bolting bigger tires to your car easier with its premade wheel tubs.

Doing tin work during a build can be very tedious and time-consuming, since its a detail-oriented process. Using pre-made wheel tubs will cut down the amount of time you spend building and they can save you money, too. Chris Alston’s Chassisworks created its line of wheel tubs to provide builders with a high-quality solution so they can increase traction with bigger tires.

For those with a 1967-1981 Camaro, 1962-1967 Chevy II, 1968-1974 Nova, or 1964-1970 Mustang, Chris Alston’s Chassisworks offers direct-fit mini wheel tubs. These tubs are designed to replace the inner half of the stock wheel tub with a new tub made from 18-gauge steel. These add anywhere from 2- to 2-3/4-inch of clearance depending on the vehicle. This means you can fit up to a 315 or 355-sized tire under the rear of your vehicle.

Now, if you’re trying to fit some really big tires under your back-halved racecar, Chris Alston’s Chassisworks can help make that happen. These massive wheel tubs are available in 24×28-inch all the way to 28×43-inch sizes. The tubs can be purchased in either aluminum or steel depending on the size you choose, come with square beads, and use Pittsburgh seams.
